How to learn the hebrew alphabet? Handwritten or printed letters?
Hello,
I am a newstarter in learning hebrew language and now entering the hebrew alphabet. I was told that it would be easier to learn printed letters in the first place, like also children learn it in Israel, and afterwards continue with the handwritten letters?
What do you folks think about it? Any recommendation?

I agree with Bar: the vast majority of the texts you'll see in Hebrew will be of the printed-letters kind. Not only in books but also in websites (italki included). It's good to know both, but I would definitely start with the printed letters.<o:p></o:p>

I think that you should learn the printed alphabet, the handwritten is used only when writing by hand.

I'm not native Hebrew speaker, but I've started to study Hebrew 5 years ago, and now me Hebrew's level is well ( however I want very well level)). So I think my advice can help.
I 'd studied print alphabet and handwriting alphabet in one time. It not gave a lot of time. But it helped me in my studies, because when I was able write hebrew words I did it in handwriting letters.
How did I study? I find in Internet and printed school's copybook with letters. There are print letter and handwriting letter in one page. And I wrote it like as children. ( And when my son learned to write and read in first class in israel school , he learned a print letter and a handwriting letter in one time, because they ( children) wrote everything words in their copybook.
I am sure if you are able discribe some hebrew words you can study they faster then you can only read or print them.
