1) desde = From/since  Examples: desde el principio (from the begining) desde el año pasado (since last year)

2) desde que = since Example:  desde que te conoci hemos sido amigos (we've been friends since I met you)

3) desde hace =   this is usually used when the situatuation started in the past and  is still happening to this day  Example Nos conocemos desde hace 20 años we've known each other for 20 years 

4) desde hacia = (usually used when the situation wasn't happening in a long time and started to happen again or vice versa) Example:  no nos veíamos desde hacia 20 años we hadn't seen each other in 20 years /  Nos conocíamos desde hacia 20 años (we knew each other for 20 years) 

5 Durante = During  Example: Durante la segunda guerra mundial - During WWII

Hola, creo que debemos aclarar cierta posible consfusión:

1.- "No nos veíamos desde hacía 20 años". Aquí "hacía" lleva acento y es un verbo.

2.- "Salí caminando desde mi casa hacia la de mi novia". Aquí "hacia" no lleva acento y es una preposición.
