The fact that verbs are gendered!

я пошла - "I went" said by women

я пошел - "I went" said by men

In Japanese, we chime in with "uh-ha", "I see." etc. very often during a conversation, punctuating every sentence. Some English speakers might feel interrupted.

The weirdest thing about Filipino (Tagalog) is that people would understand each other (especially in an elevator) when they'd ask you, "Bababa ba?" (Are you going down?) and another person would reply, "Bababa" (I'm going down). Foreigners would often get surprised when they'd hear this

I read in an article that there are 1500 verb roots in Persian, 250 prefixes and 600 post-fixes resulting 226,275,000 combinations. Persian is the language of poetry! Persian is made to extend the borders of poetry and metaphor to an unbelievable level!
