There are different dialects in the BeNeLux?

Can you explain me sth. about it?

@Charlotte Apparently, Limburgs has recently been given the status of language. I was surprised as well. You can now even chose it as a language here on iTalki even.

The map seems correct. Some of those dialects combined are actual languages, and not just dialects. What exactly do you want to know?

EDIT I see you're German. The same type of map could be drawn for Germany/Austria/Switzerland. With ''friesisch', 'bayerisch', 'schwäbisch', 'schwiizerdütsch', uws.

There are many dialects in the Netherlands, but I think this map is VERY specific. On wikipedia you can find an other map:

As far as I know there are two official languages in the Netherlands: Dutch and Fries, I think Limburgs is a dialect or 'regonal language' (not counting the languages in the Caribian Dutch islands)
