New era "Reiwa"
A new era has started off today in Japan. It is called "令和 (Reiwa)" and this means "beautiful harmony".
令(れい)beautiful, respectful, orderly
和(わ) harmony, peacefulness, Japan
Now I'm really curious to know if your country has its own year counting sytem like Japan! If it has, please tell me the name of current era and the meaning.

As I know, Japan is quite unique that has the same royal family all over the long history. Current Emperor is the many-times-great-grandson of the first Emperor. But if we look all around the world, China has few dynasties raised then collapsed. Same as Korea, Vietnam, or even England. So maybe only Japan is able to keep this kind of counting year system.
