Well, the discovery of italki's notebook section made me change. Before I rarely ever wrote something in my target languages. I would read a lot in Chinese for instance and sometimes copy the texts by hand to practise the Chinese characters but I would never write a text on my own. After finding italki I started to write a lot of texts in my target languages and upload them in the notebook section. Then I started taking part in writing and speaking challenges on Facebook. Now writing is my favourite learning method. It worked well for an easy language like Spanish but for harder languages more input and a structured approach would be beneficial. Also, after finding italki I started to play with a lot of different languages. Before I was focused on few.
And what was your experience? I noticed that you're working on your output. But you have tried it both ways and you can compare.
There is a general consideration: people usually have more input:) Not only in lnagauge learning. I have more input. Still there are things you only can learn with output. But:
Unlike you I have no idea what being "very output oriented" feels like, what it can give to a learner and not many people have the experience with it which you have.

I agree with you, I turned to an output learner here on Italki since I write and comment more than Trying to increase my knowledge in English. I am stuck to my level and there isn’t any progress in my level.
Concerning Spanish I am still very beginner and unfortunately I am not serious in my intent to learn it.
