Japanese Pod 101?

Does anyone here use the Japanese pod 101 site. I was thinking about subscribing, however I have issues with being spoken to like I'm an idiot or child. So I was wondering if the way they speak in the lessons will change, because if it doesn't I couldn't handle watching or listening to anymore of their stuff. Or maybe I'm just not watching the right series? I know different people contribute so maybe someone could suggest a series that doesn't "talk down" to the learner?

Has your trial ended? They will let you listen to as much as you like until the end of the trial but won't let you download the PDF's once you reach 10 if I remember right. I don't use it currently but I did use it for a few different languages, at one point and I found that they started out very basic depending on which level/series you listen too. At least in the ones I used, they used a lot of English, in the beginning, to explain things and then once you got to the intermediate series they explained less in English. I  found it frustrating that they wouldn't explain everything in the later series even in the target language, so, if you happen to not know a word or phrase they use, they may assume by that stage you know it.  I also didn't like that they skipped over important information. I don't know if things have changed but when I used it, for instance with Spanish they didn't have the gender of the noun when you practised...which is pointless. I'm not sure if they do that now or if they skip things in Japanese that are important.
