The Vikings were people from Scandanavia (present-day Sweden, Norway, and Denmark) who conquered part of the British Isles and raided Europe between 800 and 1000 AD.

They were excellent sailors.  They reached North America, Greenland, Europe, and the Mediterranean Sea.
