They don't have an Arabic course yet but courses for Arabic speakers. I just tried out German for Arabic speakers. It was funny to do it in reverse.

Great, that you're happy with Duolingo! :)

I used Duolingo in the past it is a good app to get started.  I use to write in my notebook the sentences and grammar point.  But now I am only learning through youtube and on italki.  I wonder if they have launched the arabic course yet.

I haven't made any progress in Russian, so that's why I'm resorting to Duolingo now. I'm thinking now about my strategy because completing the Greek tree brought me nowhere. I just don't know how to approach Russian. Writing texts also didn't bring me anywhere. Talking was disastrous. I couldn't make myself continuing with my textbook nor listen to a podcast course. I'm just trying to do whatever it takes to make Russian stick. I'm using Duolingo and LingQ now and websites with graded stories in Russian. There must be a way for me to learn this language and I'm going to find it.

Miriam, I can't tell anythgin about Doulingo strategies but why do you consider a differnt strategyfor Russian?
Are you experiencing diffulties with Duolingo Russian course, or it is just because you know Russian to be hard?

If I were to learn a lnagauge like Russian I'd either avoid drilling at all (but try to have more exposure ina  pleasant way, until I'm more comfortable...) or I would drill hard to defeat it quickly. Drilling a little sounds scary for me:) But maybe for you it's more natural.

Yeah, completely agree. Superficially attractive but ultimately disappointing, So many other resources at our disposal...
