My husband and I stayed up to watch it. It was absolutely nothing special. It was not "red". It looked like a cloud covered part of the moon and that was it. Nothing dramatic, nothing spectacular, very boring. Maybe we are just too used special effects in movies these days. 

It was fun staying up though, laughing about it and having our own little party in the backyard - but dont' worry, you didn't miss anything and you can stay up any night and have a little party. :)
