Where are you from? Does your country have a custom of tipping?

Australians virtually never tip. It's not a custom here at all. Id someone goes out of their way to provide better service we would generally tip them, but we would see at as politely paying them extra for their extra help, not something obligatory. That's pretty rare though, I don't think I've tipped at all this year.  When Australians are overseas and someone implies that they expect a tip, we often just think they're being an asshole haha

Tipping as a custom seems completely redundant to me - why not just add the extra price to the price of the items? It is however a custom in a lot of places which we (eventually) learn to follow when travelling.

When I was in Europe I often realised that I forgot to tip a few hours after leaving a restaurant :D

Tipping is the norm in South Africa.  Even the car park attendants and pump jockeys expect a tip.

Jmat the same goes for the Netherlands. We give our waitresses good wages, there is a minimum income for everyone. So they do not depend op tips. Not giving a tip got me into trouble in Florida when I visited the USA. I agree. Just increase the prices, and give the personel better salary. Then all this fuss is not necesarry.

I'm from the USA. Here, we almost always tip when individuals provides us with services. Most waiters, taxi drivers, etc rely heavily on tips to supplement their low incomes.
