What a strange World.....

We live in times that don't do justice to our intelligence and to our sensitivity. A system that imprisons us in the canons of beauty (decided by whom?), in the stereotypes, in fiction and superficiality. gone are the times when friendships and love was eternal. Today everything is moving and is consumed quickly. You invest energy and passion into a love story and then you discover that you are just one of many in a list. You think you have friends, and when you have a problem or something suddenly happens to you, around you discover the desert. Then comes the day when you realize that you are living in a Matrix. A fake World in a Real World (and the first expands itself up entirely to incorporate the real one). So....you can only hope that what you have given to others in some way doesn't go to waste, and can illuminate some remote corner of this Universe.

I agree with Xarmanla though I can understand your train of thoughts. The best way to be happy is not to expect but keep trying to give more. You have summed it up well in your last line.

There are still good people around, there still exist ever lasting relationships/friendships. But you have to choose your friends wisely & smartly and you have to be good at giving with little or no expectations in return. Love should flow from you rather than flow to you. If it is strictly about give and take, then it is business, not a relationship. Stop keeping counts :)

Easier said than done :)

But keep trying!

I agree with you ,but I think that to live in such world we have to adhere to our principals and be content .Our world is not fake if we see it from the right angle, and optimism is required to make it better.

I agree with your observations. However, imperfections account for the variance in human behavior and if we ever manage to get rid of them, we might stop being 'human'. Is that a bad thing? I dont know...

Read history!  Our times are no different from the double dealing, conniving people documented by Homer and railed against bt ancient Chinese philosophers.
