Music as a means to facilitate second language acquisition has not been widely studied (compared to other subjects). However, the research that I have read and experimented with suggests a positive correlation between musically inclined individuals and language learning (both listening and speaking).

But don't just listen to the music! SING IT! Otherwise... what’s the point!?
Shy? Not in the shower I bet... Rock out with your coccyx out, get on your clean foot and sing, sing, sing. This way you are improving your listening and speaking skills while (hopefully) building vocab.

Children's rhymes can be great! But you wouldn't expect someone to learn English by listening to Aesop Rock... if you get my drift. If you don’t… I can sing several songs in languages I have not officially studied and don’t really know what I am saying but I sound cool when go to karaoke.

I guess any type of exposure is good, but I do not find it good for learning the language. Listening to music in Spanish does make me want to know what is being said, but I'm listening to the music as a whole.

I am listening to a J-Pop playlist while I take a social-networking break for some passive learning. Each day I recognise more words, which feels good :) My dog doesn't like J-Pop though - he left the room! He also hates Cher, he much prefers classical music, probably because he's a purebred snob hahaha. 

I'm slowly learning to sing the old song 'Ue o Muite Arukou' - I can't wait to bust it out at karaoke!

I am searching Karaok app now but I need the funcition of giving mark to know how do I sing?

I definitely love listening to music written in the language I'm trying to learn! I find that I remember certain words or phrases better because they were in songs. However, I wouldn't use it to learn conversational phrases. The artist's goal is to create a catchy but poetic way to say their message, and I find that phrases in songs is far from how I would actually talk to anyone.
