Day 1 in Valencia
I spent my honeymoon in Spain last month. It was a fantastic traveling experience that I have never had before.
We flew into Valencia, our first stop, on Mar.19.
When we arrived in Valencia, we went directly to a local man's home.
Unfortunately however, the host wasn't at home, so we called him at once.
He said he was currently at work and his father wouldn't be back until 17:00.
It was a bad start to the trip.
My husband called his friend who lives in Valencia.
His friend drove us to his home.
After we left our luggage at his home, we went to eat lunch.
He took us to eat pizza and meat.
I was surprised at the amount of the food.
Even the three of us couldn't finish just a plate of meat that was meant for two people.
After eating lunch, we stayed in his home for a while because we were exhausted from jet lag.
We rested until the host called us, informing us that he had returned from work.
When we arrived at the local man's home, he apologized to us and left after telling us some details about his home.
My husband and I went to sleep immediately because we wanted to go to Las Fallas, a famous festival in Valencia.
We woke up at 23:00 and walked out to the street.
We saw tons of paper dolls on the street.
My husband told me that they were a satirical representation of various scenes and current events.
Next, we walked downtown where there was the biggest paper doll.
It wasn't until the midnight that the performance started.
First, there were fireworks but then the paper dolls were lit on fire.
The paper dolls burned for a while until they collapsed.
Everyone begun to cheer, but after the burning was finished, we went back to sleep.
