There were a few grammatical errors but if you said this story to an English speaker we can understand the story. Good job on keeping the story in the same tense. I changed tournament to competition just because that is more so what it would be called here. And not always, but most of the time we use “an” instead of “a” when a word starting with A,E,I.O,U, and sometimes H follows it. “The meeting starts in an hour” “Can you buy me an umbrella?” “I met up with an Argentinian girl” Let me know if you have any questions:)
