Is -려면 simply a short form of -려고 하면 ?

I think so. But it has its own dictionary entry (http://krdic.naver.com/detail.nhn?docid=11730700)
so technically, not sure.
eg: 집에 가려면 이 버스를 타세요. = 집에 가려고 하면 이 버스를 타세요.
-려는 = ‘-려고 하는’ eg: 집에 가려는 사람은 이 버스를 타세요.
-려다 = ‘-려고 하다’ eg: 집에 가려다 말았다.
-려던 = ‘-려고 하던' eg: 집에 가려던 중이었다.
-려는데 = '-려고 하는데' eg: 집에 가려는데 누가 나를 불렀다.
