Smoke
Is this sentence understandable? I intend to say how teachers make a lesson interesting. Teachers can begin with something interesting before introducing serious contents. Any mistakes?

Teachers can begin with something interesting before introducing serious ***content***. But "interesting" and "serious" are orthogonal, so contrasting them like that sounds odd to me. Teachers can break the ice with a fun topic and then move on to more serious content. Teachers can kick things off by getting everyone talking about something fun. And then they can gradually shift gears into topics with a bit more substance.
