Person, People and Peoples I know "people" is plural, but I was watching a movie and they said 'peoples'. (Something like: ´they are vanishing' - 'what is vanishing?' - 'PEOPLES!') It is a child movie, so my question is: Is this 'peoples' thing something to give importance? or is it a slang? or is it a kids way to say people? or another thing? or just a mistake?

Sometimes children incorrectly pluralize words... so it is possible that using "peoples" was a kind of "kid talk" since it was a children's movie. However, "people" is a word used to refer to a specific group of a nation, community, or ethnicity. So you could hear something like "the native peoples of the Americas". This use of the word is not common though.
