Expressions Hi, there Could you help me with some questions? 1) In an episode of Everybody hates Chris, a man says: "Hey, Little dude's father from across the street." Is from across the street referring to "father"? Could you say "Hey little dude from across the street's father"? 2) Let us say you are lighting/turning (do you turn off a griddle or extinguish it?) on a griddle and someone is pouring oil on (or OVER??? or across?) the the flat surface. Does it sound odd to say "Pour oil as far as here.", while you are pointing to the griddle? 3) If you go to a place to hike, like near a beach, and there is like a booth or stall where you have to sign up at and a guide. If it is a trail through the woods or up a mountain. Couldn't you use "go on "Let's go on that trail/hike.." "I bet you don't have the guts to take/go onthis trail"? Wouldn't they work? What about "Let's hike/walk this trail"? Are they odd? Thank you very much!
