There's a basic 'continuity error' here. If you use 'so as to', the subject of the two halves of the sentence has to be the same. In this case, I presume it's the writer, not the addressee, who needs to do the cross-checking. Something like this might work: "Please send more detailed information about the items comprising the opening balance so as to enable us to cross check them against our records."
