Differences between"arena"and"stage"? Differences between"arena"and"stage"? Those two words both have the meaning of "a place for performance",so do they have any differences?

Yes, there is a difference. An arena is circular. The audience usually surrounds a central stage or the stage is set against one section of the wall so that it is nearly surrounded by the audience. The Roman Colosseum and most sports stadiums are arenas. In contrast, a stage is a general term for a performance platform. The stage itself is usually rectangular or square. Commonly, the audience is situated only in front of the stage.
