Is it correct in Korean culture to ask "how are you doing today?" as greeting? Which sentence use... Hello, I would like to ask about language/culture knowledge detail. In my native language Polish and as I found same in English, there are some forms of greeting or opening the "small talk" with friends like "Hi guys! How are you doing today?". If I want to ask my younger friends on KakaoTalk group chatroom same meaning question like "Hi everyone, How are you doing today? :)" Is it ok to say like... "안녕하세요! 오늘은 기분 어때요?" or "안녕하세요여러분! 어떻게 지내세요?" or is there any other friendly more natural way to open just daily greetings exchange with friend or group of friends when I talk or write to them the first time that day? Is it different depend on if I talk/send message to pen pal friends or "real-life" friends? I'll be thankful for all tips. :) In my native language spoken language is usually less casual even for friends then "chat-language". I know that in Korean it is usually important to use appropriate level of language formality. I want to be friendly but respectful to my chat friends.

As a native Korean, I'm 23, 1번 "안녕하세요! 오늘은 기분 어때요?" just one thing! we rarely use '은' of '오늘은' just say '오늘 기분 어때요?'ㅎㅎ..in formal, '오늘 기분 어떠세요?'ㅎㅎ 2번"안녕하세요여러분! 어떻게 지내세요?" is good.but '여러분 안녕하세요!'is more natural i think. 3번is there any other friendly more natural way to open just daily greetings exchange with friend or group of friends when I talk or write to them the first time that day the first time?....it's hard.... just smile? :) 4번Is it different depend on if I talk/send message to pen pal friends or "real-life" friends? No! we use same phrases ~ but it's depend on you and your friends.
