Question(help, please) Hi, there Could you help me? 1) What do you call a person who can't stand walking barefoot or getting dirty, never eats (not even pizza) with his hands, only goes to kind of expensive restaurants, etc? Could you say "fussy", or "finicky"? Prissy 2) Does it sound odd to use "play" or "act" in this sentence: "He tried to play(act) the plumber (instead of calling a professional one) and it backfired"? Or "Don't try to actor the doctor. Call a real one. You may end up making things worse"? Please...

I'd call the first one 'posh' or 'prissy' (note prissy has a more feminine tone), as for the second one, neither of the words really work. This works a little better: "He tried to act as if he was a plumber and it backfired" "Don't try to pretend you're a doctor. Call a real one. You may end up making things worse"
