Hello versio9, Whether you are a beginner or at an advanced level it is your choice to take classes or a private tutor. Both are good, it depends on your personal preference.

If you have never studied French, I would recommend taking a class with a Teacher. But if you already have some background in the laguange, a Tutor maybe all you need. Or maybe a combination of both.
