Do you think we should have a personal limit of 10 questions per day? I ask this because one poster has asked over a hundred questions in a just couple of days, most of which have nothing to do with language. I'm sure I'm not the only one who is getting tired of wading through them all. The italki team seem unconcerned by this, so if you would like to see a daily limit imposed please lend your support here. Thank you.@ Jit-Keong I also submitted feedback to italki about this but they told me that because the poster is not posting about any subjects which go against the rules they cannot do anything about it. Some kind of limit or regulation is clearly needed and if more people complain about it then something might be done.@ Marie-Hélène, thank you for your answer. I know that it's important to understand culture alongside language, but more than 100 questions in 2 days is a bit much. Italki needs some serious regulation in order to keep it relevant for language-learning. If users are allowed to post as much as they want about whatever subject they want then this website will risk losing its purpose and its relevance.@ Cherry Thank you for your opinion. I do think a limit is the only way to stop people from posting hundreds of posts in a short space of time. If the limit was 10 per day, then not only would we all have far fewer irrelevant questions to scroll through, but the poster might think more carefully and more selectively about which questions to ask. I agree that the voting function ("Is this question related to language learning?") is not at all effective, and some other measure should be introduced.@ Jamie Thanks for your comment! It's no fun for anybody to have to scroll through hundreds of spam threads just to find relevant content. If people want to post about anything they want, that's what sites such as facebook are for (where the government allow it, of course).@ Cindy Wow, 5 posts per day? However I know there's a daily limit on how many people you can add to your friends list, so why not on how many questions you can post? If there are other ways to stop this happening again then I'd love to hear them. I'm not sure writing to the offender will work, but it might be worth a try.@ Chi I agree with you about what is happening to italki. It seems to me that italki is trying to be too many things. I think there is a danger that it will lose its relevance if it goes too far down the social networking route. I would therefore like to see the focus return to language-learning and its related culture. Don't worry about your English! You have a very good level and I understand you perfectly. ;)@ Jura I would LOVE to ignore them, but it's not that easy when one single person dominates the whole board. It makes using that feature an unpleasant chore.@ Hisun Many of us do vote using that feature, but this "solution" clearly does not work.@ KK Jennifer L It is up to italki to consider it, but we are the users and without us, the website does not exist. The only way to help improve the website is to give feedback. There is clearly a variety of opinions on this matter, as I expected. It seems that most people do not want to see limits imposed (and I agree that this is not an ideal solution either), but at the same time it really frustrates a lot of users when one person continually dominates the threads.
