Where to go to the USA as a J1 student (Work&Travel)? I am going to Florida as a J1 student for this summer to work, but there is this terrible situation with oil. No tourists = no jobs. I have tickets to Miami, FL. Do you think it's possible to get a good job there? Or shall I go northward?

I am a Texan. I only know Texas. I would think that for tourism the cities near Orlando, Florida would be popular because of Universal Studios theme park. I think if you look into areas like that you will find a good tourism job. If you would like to you can write me with question about the States and I will answer to the best of my abilities.

Does it have to be Florida? I would recommend Arizona, Colorado, Oregon, Washingon. For 3 reasons: 1. I like them. :-) 2. They all have large cities, but lots and lots of beautiful wilderness areas, as well as varied climates. Mountains, plaines, oceans in 2 of them. 3. The majority of the people in those states speak standard american english without any marked accent. There are many other great states and cities, but I'm prejudiced to those areas.
