Regarding my four shipments, I couldn’t resolve or influence this situation, as I was on vacation. I can’t find out now if there were any options to resolve the issue. But there is no doubt that we could have avoided this issue if I had received updates/information from the carrier website. In spite of these circumstances, I tried to do everything possible to protect these orders and deliver the cargo on time. Of course, I asked the carrier for an earlier vessel (do you literally mean a ship? if so it's correct) and received updates. But truckers probably could not catch those closings anyway (not sure what this means; may be correct). The huge extra costs for demurrage will probably be possed on to me somehow.
