I also couldn’t go to Hokkaido during this summer vacation. My grandparents live there, so I have been there every year. But these years, I’m not able to go there due to COVID. I want to see my grandparents. However, there is a possibility that COVID will be over in Japan. In Japan, the number of population of COVID infected is decreasing day by day, so I think we can regain our daily lives. However, I don’t know whether the news is true or false. In any case, thinking positively is the most important, so we should think the news is true!

I also couldn’t go to Hokkaido during this summer vacation. My grandparents live there, so I usually go there every year. But these past two years , I haven’t been able to go there due to COVID. I want to see my grandparents. However, there is a possibility that COVID will end in Japan. In Fact, the number of COVID infected persons is decreasing day by day, so I think we can regain our daily lives. However, I don’t know whether the news is true or false. In any case, thinking positively is the most important, so we should think the news is true!
I hope you can visit your grandparents soon. How is the COVID situation in their city?

Try to simplify your sentences a bit more. You have some transitions that aren’t needed that I simplified for you. :)
