Teacher’s Day
Not all the teachers are influencers but the drama teacher was different. He delivered interesting lectures that you wish the lesson lasts for hours. He is knowledgeable and associate his lesson with life. He has the ability to make you think about actions and reactions of the characters of the plays that he is teaching.
When we read the play’s text he stops on every word and ask many questions. Why did Hamlet say that? Is Ophelia a victim? Who is the guilty? Does a human being really fall in love of the first sight?
Similar questions make you read the whole life as if it is a drama and people as actors. He introduced us to the most important literary terms like paradox, pun, protagonist, antagonist, hyperbole, innuendo, soliloquy....etc. Most of students didn’t pay attention to a play technically. A play was often read as a story without analyzing it literary.
I remember my teachers today since it is Teacher’s Day and drama teacher was one of the most distinguished teachers I’ve ever met.
Do you remember anyone of your teachers? Do you think a teacher is an influencer? When is Teacher’s day in your country?
