About me:
As my life motto is 'Do what you love, love what you do', my main interest is English. Specifically, British accents and dialects. I spend hours listening to different accents, learning new words and phrases, and reading linguistic books on phonetics.
As our paths are not always direct, I used to be an artisan bakeress, which is now more of a pet hobby. I am also a piano beginner, I love music of any kind, sports - I like doing them as well as watching them, long walks in the woods, and films. :)Me as a Teacher
I have a Master's in English Philology (University of Pardubice, CZ). Because I always knew that I'd like to be the one helping people on their way of learning English, I also studied a professional module of the course English for Teachers. The studies and finals were conducted in English, and I graduated with certified C2 level of English.
During my studies I concentrated on linguistic areas (I wrote both my thesis on linguistic topics), and in 2016 I won the national competition Young Linguists with an article, which also got published.
As a student (and even now) I was devoted, ambitious, and passionate, so I spent extra hours drilling and working on my accent.My lessons & teaching style
My lessons are about one thing: about YOU. During the trial lesson, we'll talk about what you need. Then, we'll tailor the lessons to your needs, pace, availability.
Accent Reduction:
All depends on your pronunciation. Generally, first we'll focus on how your vocal tract works, drill specific sounds, and then try to use them in a conversation. Later into the course, we will concentrate on word stress, rhythm, intonation, pitch. These are areas that will make you sound British! :)
English/Czech speaking lesson:
These will be based on just speaking. We'll focus on the natural flow of your speech. If needed, I'll explain a grammatical issue or vocabulary. We can talk about anything you want!My teaching material

I had a wonderful conversation about phonetics. It open up a lot of ideas and interesting questions about how sound work, how speech work. I am curious about what more I can learn. Veronika is very knowledgable, and she have practical experience on how to have control over your articulations. I highly recommend her class for anyone who is interested.
