About Me

Hello and welcome to my profile! My name is a Mao. I live in Siem Reap with my family. Many years I was working with tourists as a guide and I was also teaching English and Thai in rural parts of Cambodia and now I teach Khmer to foreigners, so I know Cambodia, our language, our culture, customs and land very well! I like meeting new people, sharing stories, playing Khmer traditional games and of course I love riding motorbikes... especially in our jungles!

Me as a Teacher

I am friendly, easy going and patient teacher who likes sharing knowledge and learning new things. I am Khmer native speaker, who knows English and a bit of Thai and Lao and I am here to help you improve your Khmer. I can also give you some tips how to cut “daung” properly. My wife has a vegetable stall you know...

My lessons & teaching style

My lessons are made to your needs and I always try to make relaxed and entertaining atmosphere. I don’t want you to feel like you are back in school. We will focus on conversation, vocabulary building, pronunciation and anything you might struggle with. If you are a beginner I can teach you day to day conversation and topics such as shopping, ordering tuk tuk, directions, friendly conversation with locals and many more! We can also focus on reading and writing Khmer. If you are advanced student already we can dive into deeper topics. I am looking forward to our class! Mao
