About Me

¡Hola! My name is Aitor, I am an Italki community tutor from Bilbao, in Spain. Being a native speaker of Spanish and Basque, I have always been curious about languages and culture. Having lived and worked in Italy, England, Australia, Portugal and France, allowed me to speak various languages fluently. All those years of learning and teaching people from different backgrounds and nationalities gave me an understanding of the importance of verbal communication in the learning process. Curious by nature, I believe there is always something new to learn and people to meet, hopefully that resonates with you too.

Me as a Teacher

As a native speaker I can help you with your conversation skills to understand and communicate effectively, as locals do, and not phrases you may find only in textbooks. I have experience as a one to one teacher for Spanish and English. Besides, I have worked in tourism as a receptionist, so an essential part of the job was to effectively communicate with people from all over the world. Moreover, as a physical activity and sports science graduate with a master's degree in education, I have experience in a school background as an educator.

My lessons & teaching style

The classes will be focused on conversation.The topic may vary depending on your interests and level of communication. That's why a private class is a great option, because it is specifically designed to fulfill your needs. You will also receive all the corrections with the explanations at the end of every class so you can keep track of your progress. Of course we will work on the grammar as well, but we will do it through different activities so you can apply that knowledge to real life situations. ¡Hasta pronto!
