This is a goodbye note: this is the last summer I'll be teaching. In August I'll start working at the university. I have already added all the available slots to my calendar - those are the last lessons I'll give. But there's still time for many hours of learning Finnish and Latin, so see you in lessons! I just wanted to let you know so that you could start looking for a new teacher for autumn (unfortunately I can't give any recommendations, just don't know anyone).

I'd like to teach you Latin or tutor you in Finnish.
In Finnish, we can concentrate completely on the grammar, if that's what you want, but what I suggest is that we have small conversations and in between talk about a few grammar points and learn some new words. This way you get to use the language, practice having conversations and update your grammar and vocabulary. Let me know what you'd like to talk about, and we can do it!
In Latin my lessons are text-based and it would be ideal if you had your own grammar in hand. If not, don't worry, we can do it anyways! If I get to choose, I'd like to teach you Sallust, but you can name the author.My lessons & teaching style
Before the lesson I'd like to know something about your level and if you have any special interests - like themes to discuss or specific difficult areas where you'd like to get some help.
In Finnish the theme of the lesson could be for example verb conjugation and we can use different kinds of verbs and check the conjugation for each of them. We can have the whole sessions in Finnish or if you're still a bit insecure we can use English as an auxiliary language.
In Latin I'd like to concentrate on grammar and reading. I suggest we choose an author, read their texts and discuss vocabulary, grammar and the meaning. In the lower levels the texts can be very easy and short.My teaching material

Iida is a well prepared teacher. She is quite patient with your mistakes. She corrects your mistakes that you might simply overlook. She paraphrases sentences to the shape that sounds more native and makes more sense. Definitely recommend her as your teacher :)

Iida is a very nice teacher. She is friendly, easy to talk to and keeps conversation going. Every lesson flies by in a blink of an eye. She is happy to answer any question I have and clarifies anything I don't understand, by giving plenty of good examples. Thank you, Iida! :)
