My name is Rik., I am from Italy and I currently live in a small village among the Italian green hills . It is not a popular tourist destination, but is one of those places with plenty of medieval buildings that look like they came straight from the background of a Renaissance painting. I love this place, but I have not always lived here. My living addresses history is quite long. I had my home in places such as Saudi Arabia, Libya, Sudan, Turkey, Ireland, Finland and even a cruise ship commuting between China and Japan..Me as a Teacher
I am an Italian native speaker with a professional background in Human Resources and Training.
Before starting teaching online, I was Learning Officer on board cruise ships. My responsibility was to teach Italian, English, ship rules and customer service to hundreds of crew member from all over the World.
Previously I also worked in two Italian banks in the HR and training office.
I use English daily to communicate with my family and I am now studying Chinese.My lessons & teaching style
When I start teaching a new student, my first steps are to agree a precise study goal with her / him and to try to understand what are the best teaching activities based on her / his learning style.
I base my lessons on practical situations so that what my students learn can be easily used in real life, which is also confidence-boosting. I also like to highlight cross-cultural differences and similarities.
I like to assign a little homework but I don´t put any pressure on it. I only try to bring my students to dedicate a few minutes per day to study the language. Consistency is key when learning a new language!My teaching material
