I am a life-long learner and always looking for the next adventure on the horizon!
I have a Bachelor's Honours Degree in English Studies, a Foundation degree in hair and makeup for fashion, (both from leading universities in the U.K), a 120-Hour TEFL certification and a Cambridge English certificate in teaching IELTS.
Through my love of travel and education I have lived in diverse places such as Australia, Japan and Saudi Arabia.
At the moment I am learning how to make my own organic skincare, whilst also enjoying hiking, and learning Italian (although strictly at beginner level!).Me as a Teacher
As your teacher I will be sensitive to the challenges of speaking English, and always provide you with support. I understand that it takes courage to try. My lessons won't feel strict. I want you to have fun and not be scared to make mistakes!
I aim for you to feel confident and become independent using spoken and written English, so I will always provide lots of opportunities for you to speak and express yourself.My lessons & teaching style
I have taught non-native students for 7 years, so I understand how to support you through fun activities to build your confidence and independence.
I believe that if we can laugh together and reduce any fear of making mistakes, then we can learn more!
Some examples of lessons we could have together include:
- Natural conversation (any topic)
- Vocab (how to use more variety)
- Commonly used idioms/slang and meanings
- Pronunciation (so you can sound more natural)
- Role plays of common situations (travel, socialising, telephone calls etc.)

Karen is a brilliant, excellant and superlative teacher and very empathetic with her students. We have a lot of fun during the class and I get a chance to talk a lot. I made a lot of progress since I have her as a teacher. I recommend her lessons to all those who want to learn the English language with care but also with fun.
