I have been a Humanities teacher for 10 years with over 4 years experience teaching in international schools in both Malaysia and Portugal. Prior to this I taught in secondary schools throughout the UK. I teach Geography and Global Perspectives at both KS3 and IGCSE level. I specialise in teaching students with English as a second language (ESL) and I have thoroughly enjoyed working with my ESL students from China, Japan and Korea, watching their progress in their English language skills and individual characters develop through their learning journeys. This is what encourages and inspires me as a teacher.My lessons & teaching style
I believe the best way to learn English is by having fun in an energetic, positive and welcoming environment. When you are having fun and enjoying your learning experience you are likely to be more motivated and therefore make more progress. My lessons are engaging because I like to give my learners variety in their learning through creative and interactive activities which are student-centered, using lots of images to prompt student discussion, video and audio clips to support understanding, props and role-play to develop conversational skills and technique.My teaching material

Head of Citizenship Lutterworth CollegeI am a qualified and experienced Humanities teacher of Geography, Travel and Tourism, Citizenship and Religious Studies. This teaching experience gives me a vast amount of knowledge and understanding over a range of important subjects which I can educate or discuss with potential students at Italki.

Head of Humanities Taylor's International SchoolThis experience involved teaching IGCSE History, Geography and Global Perspectives to students in an international school with English as an additional language. I have learnt so much about many different cultures and traditions and how to support students where English is their second language.
