Hello everyone! My name is Rory, I'm 24 years old from Manchester in the UK. But currently I’m living in Montreal, Canada. I have been living here in Canada for the past three years, after completing my bachelors degree in History from the University of Sheffield.
I'm a fully qualified TEFL teacher, having completed my 120 hour CELTA certification. I love travelling, meeting people from all over the world and learning about new cultures. I have travelled to twenty countries so far and would love to add more to my list!
In my free time, I enjoy photography, film, writing, playing football and snowboarding.Me as a Teacher
I'm a native English speaker so I'm happy to help anyone from beginner to advanced (A1 to C2) and learn English in a relaxed environment. As a teacher I'm very personable and interested in learning about my students. I would love to learn about where you're from.
I like to have a rapport with my students that is open and approachable, so that you feel comfortable asking me any questions that will help us working towards your goals learning English : - )My lessons & teaching style
All lessons are fully customised to the level, goals and ambitions of each student. In our lessons we will use a range of materials to keep things fun and exciting.
I like to use newspaper articles, listening activities and videos to introduce you to new vocabulary that we can discuss together and talk about their meaning and context. Also, I can prepare powerpoint presentation slides if you want to focus on a specific grammar topic. Or if you just want a casual conversational lesson we can practice your speaking.
Between lessons I like to set homework so you can practice what you've learnt and perfect your skills.

CELTA Cambridge English 2021My Celta teaching certificate required three months of intensive learning. The final six weeks of the course involved the teaching practicum. In this stage I taught a range of beginner to intermediate language learners. It was rewarding seeing the progression students made in such a short space of time and it was a great learning experience for myself as a teacher. Teaching was all done on zoom. This will be invaluable in my future teaching remotely online to students throughout the world.

Dear Rorz, thank you for the first lesson. It was very nice to meet you. And I was amazed at how perfectly prepared you were. It was very interesting and useful conversation. An optimistic and cheerful approach. I only regretted taking such a short lesson. Next time I will definitely take a lesson longer so that I can have more time to get more information.
