About Me

My name is Arata Kato. Now I am 20 years old and a student of the university of Tokyo. On italki I have been learning Russian for months. I am interested in, of course, languages, literature, natural science, politics, sumo, running, and hip hop music. Also I am talkative and put a lot of efforts to foreign languages: English and Russian, which is why, I can understand the difficulty to speak foreign languages. This makes me patient and help learners of Japanese. 私の名前は加藤新大です。現在は東京大学の学生で、ここ数か月はitalkiでロシア語を勉強しています。私は広く物事に関心があり、例えば語学や文学、自然科学や政治、相撲やランニング、ヒップホップ音楽などに興味があります。もちろん、私は人と話すが好きですし、私自身もロシア語や英語などの外国語を流暢に話せるように努力しています。そのため、日本語学習者の方々の味わう難しさを理解しています。なので、会話中も忍耐強く、また効果的に助けることもできると思います。

Me as a Teacher

In my lessons, I focus on developing your speaking skill in Japanese. So, I will always put efforts into making you talk a lot in Japanese. In order to achieve this, I will build our conversation with wide range of knowledge. For example, I’m interested in, of course, languages, natural science, running, social problems, and politics. I believe that these interesting topics help you effectively acquire Japanese in conversation. 私の授業では、生徒の日本語で話す力を伸ばすことを目標にしています。なので、私は、会話の中で生徒がたくさん日本語を話すことを目指します。そのために会話中、幅広い知識をもとに話を広げていこうと考えています。例えば、語学はもちろんのこと、自然科学やランニング、社会問題や政治まで、広く興味を持っています。私はこうしたおもしろい話題が、生徒の効果的な日本語習得に役立つと考えています。

My lessons & teaching style

We pick up a topic in advance for conversation in our lesson, and during our lesson, I write down the words that you do not understand or you do not know. Of course, you can choose topics that you are interested in, but if you do not come up with any idea, I can suggest you a topic. Also we can decide to talk whether in horrific or plain form. 授業の中では、あらかじめ選んだ話題について会話をし、生徒が知らなかったり、理解できなかった単語や言い回しを記録して送ります。もちろん、生徒が興味を持っている話題を選ぶことができますが、特に思いつかない場合は私から提示することができます。また、敬語で話すのか、カジュアルな日本語で話すのかも選ぶことができます。
