Interest topic
Hello! My name is Hannah and I am from Boston, Massachusetts in the United States. I am currently living in Paris, France, but I previously worked in Madrid, Spain for a year teaching English. I received my TEFL certificate from Canterbury Spain and went on to teach children and adults both in-person and online. Now I am currently working part-time in Paris and have found myself missing the joy of teaching English. It is something I am very passionate about and would like to continue during my free time here. I love meeting new people, exploring new places, and learning something new every day. I'm already looking forward to meeting my new students!
Me as a Teacher
When I was a child, I dreamed of being a teacher. I was inspired by my teachers and would beg my parents to act as my students while I gave them lessons. As I got older, I started to find a love for advertising - which is ultimately why I chose to study it. I think part of the reason I loved it so much was because of my professors. Thanks to my teachers growing up, my professors at university, and the course I took to receive my TEFL certificate, I am confident as a teacher, which ultimately makes my students feel more confident and comfortable. I am extremely patient, hardworking, and always keep a positive attitude. Learning a new language is best done with a smile on your face!
My lessons & teaching style
For my lessons, I always begin with a warm-up. Whether that is me asking you questions about yourself or doing a small activity. I understand that switching from your native language to a class in another language can be confusing and challenging, so that's why a warm-up is always the best opener. For my teaching style, I usually focus on speaking and listening. From this, I can gain a better understanding of which grammar or pronunciation topics my student needs to work on. I then will use images, presentations, documents to teach that specific topic and have the student put it into practice. After all, learning a language is about communication, so speaking and listening are essential!

Hannah prepare the lessons well, so I don't have to worry about topics during the lessons. Hannah listens a lot and talks a lot, so I have many chances to input and output English, and that helps improving my English.
