Hello, my name is Maria. I'm an English teacher. I lived in the USA for 2 years. I'm currently living in Saint Petersburg, Russia. In 2017 I earned a master's degree in English from the State University of New York, USA. In 2022 I earned a master's degree in Modern Languages and Cultural Studies from the University of Alberta, Canada. Здравствуйте! Меня зовут Мария. Я преподаю английский язык. Я прожила 2 года в США. Сейчас живу в Санкт-Петербурге. В 2017 окончила магистратуру по специальности английская филология (Государственный Университет Нью-Йорка, США). В 2022 окончу магистратуру по специальности современные языки и культурология (Университет Альберты, Канада).

Me as a Teacher

I've been teaching English for more than 5 years. I worked at a language school for 2,5 years. After that I became a freelance teacher. I truly love English, and I enjoy teaching it. I want my students to be able to experience other cultures through studying, working, travelling, watching movies or reading books in English. Я преподаю английский более 4 лет. Из них 2,5 года я проработала в крупной языковой школе. Сейчас обучаю английскому самостоятельно. Я люблю английский язык, и мне нравится его преподавать. Хочу, чтобы у моих учеников и учениц была возможность "прожить" другую культуру, будь то через учебу, работу, путешествия, просмотр кино или чтение книг на английском.

My lessons & teaching style

I care about my students. I want them to enjoy our lessons and to reach noticeable results. That is why I use textbooks with decent grammar and vocabulary materials and engaging texts and audios. In addition, we watch different videos, discuss them or do some tasks. Sometimes we do extra grammar, phonetics or other activities. Мои ученики важны для меня. Я хочу, чтобы наши уроки приносили радость и в то же время вели к видимым результатам. Я использую учебники с достойной грамматической и словарной базой и увлекательными текстами и аудио. Кроме того, мы с учениками смотрим различные видео, делаем к ним задания или просто обсуждаем.
