About Me

Hello!! 🙂 my name is Sharon and I am from Harare, Zimbabwe. I have been residing in Pretoria South Africa for the past 8 years , where I completed my Bachelor's Degree in law 👩‍🎓. I also have a 120 hour TEFL Certification. I studied English Literature and English Communication Skills during my A Level exams, therefore, I have always been passionate about the English Language and I love learning how to continuously improve myself. I am a friendly, enthusiastic and respectful person who has an enthusiastic outlook on life. A fun fact about me, I am an introvert who loves food and travel, but once we get to know each other I will be the loudest person in the room🙂

Me as a Teacher

I believe myself to be a teacher that provides my students with an enjoyable education experience. I aspire to be relatable to my students and have enough knowledge to advise and teach them well where they lack. I have an approachable, inclusive style of teaching that is sufficiently flexible enough to include diverse learning styles, needs and requirements. I am an effective communicator, both in writing and verbally. I have a strong ability to plan and organise effectively. I love my job and I get a great sense of achievement from seeing my students develop and grow as individuals

My lessons & teaching style

In my lessons I will help you understand the meaning of words and the language as an evolution rather than just a translation. This will be through detailed grammar rules, sentence structure and linguistics and this will be handy in writing exams. For those that are trying to learn orally speaking the language, a good way of learning English is to listen to native speakers this way the student can learn how a natural conversation sounds and what words are used in everyday life. I will incorporate exercises, colorful presentations and images as I believe this is something that increases student interest significantly.
