Hello! My name is Masha. I'm a native English speaker from the San Francisco, California (United States), but I currently live on a small island in Spain. My hobbies include traveling, learning about new cultures and languages, hiking, and painting.Me as a Teacher
I am a TESOL certified teacher. I have 9 years of experience teaching English abroad, both in the classroom and online. I've taught more than 6,000 one-on-one lessons to children in China through various platforms, and I've been lucky enough to maintain some of the same students for 4-5 years. It's been an absolutely honor to watch them grow up, and make tremendous progress with their English!My lessons & teaching style
My lessons are curriculum based. I use short reading materials to guide the lesson topic, and strive to reach a balance between a structures approach and targeted free talk. My goal is to encourage students at all levels to develop reading comprehension, and conversational skills. In my lessons we read a short text, check for comprehension, and expand conversation connecting the lesson topic to the student's own life, and experiences. I guide my students by asking leading questions, and help them formulate and repeat complete sentences to practice proper oral grammar. Many students and parents have described my teaching style as friendly, lively, patient, and professional.My teaching material
