About Me

I have been teaching English since 2014, private tutoring since 2015, and tutoring online since 2019.
My Grandma was a headteacher and always said I would become a teacher, I thought she was wrong as I had not enjoyed school. That was until I discovered teaching English as a second language, as this was a way for me to combine my passion for travel, learning about other cultures, and adventure, with a way to work while having a positive impact on the world.
The more I learnt about teaching and education the more I realised that alternative education is something I am fully invested in, as I never actually hated learning, just the outdated techniques my teachers had used.My lessons & teaching style
I am a very friendly and laid back person, so my teaching style reflects that. I try to create a relaxed environment in my classes, so that my students don't feel worried about trying new things and expressing themselves.
We can work out a system for corrections, my preferred method would be gentle corrections when you have finished the sentence, along with some typed up mistakes for you to practice after class.
I think that intrinsic motivation and context are very important when studying, if your only focus is to pass an exam, learning is going to be 1000% more difficult than if you are focused on communication and understanding things you are interested in!My teaching material
