About Me

I´ve been teaching English for over 12 years, and over that time, I´ve worked in the UK, Thailand, Hungary and Spain in various academies, university settings and other professional institutions. I have experience teaching exam classes (Cambridge, IELTS, TOIEC, Aptis), English for Academic Purposes, Business English, and general English and conversation classes. I also have a master´s in Applied Linguistics, which I absolutely loved studying, and which has given me real confidence in many areas of language, including grammar, pronunciation, and how to focus on real, authentic language use together with all its subtleties. I think this knowledge and experience really benefits my students!My lessons & teaching style
I incorporate all four skills into classes - speaking, listening, reading, writing, depending on your individual needs and goals, but they tend to be speaking-based. Even if an individual students wants to focus on grammar or reading, I try to bring these off the page, and make them "real" and interactive at all times. I focus a lot on correction - of grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and intonation, and I will often correct you at the time of speaking (depending on the activity, of course!), because I believe this is the best way to break old habits and establish new, good ones.
