About Me

My name is Eliza, and I live in the United States. I enjoy talking about books, movies, family, headlines and travels. In North Carolina, where I live, we have many mountains and the beach is not too far away, so in the Summer and Fall it's nice to get out and hike on the many trails available. My favorite foods are taco's and pizza (but not together). I enjoy meeting new people and look forward to getting to know you.

Me as a Teacher

My experience as a teacher is that of a Community tutor. For the last year, I have been engaging in language exchanges online with people wanting to practice their English. As a language-learner myself, I'm aware of the difficulties and snags encountered when trying to build confidence speaking a foreign language.

My lessons & teaching style

For teaching, I like to use conversation in a laid-back atmosphere where you can feel comfortable to practice conversation at your own pace. I'm very patient and would be happy to help you gain confidence in your speaking skills. If there is a special topic or grammar issue you would like to focus on, the lessons are very flexible, and we can spend time on whatever you prefer. Sometimes, I use photo's or articles as conversation prompts, discussing what you see in a picture and what you think people are doing in it, etc. Aside from discussing articles and what we think about them, we can share opinions on things. For example, if we prefer public transportation or driving cars in the city.
