Hi! My name is Monty Deines. I am an English teacher based in Florida in the United States.
I grew up in the mid-west part of the US, and have a relatively neutral accent. (Although, no accent is truly neutral.)
So I am pretty easy to understand when I talk.
I got to Florida after a 3 and a half year layover in Bolivia. My wife and I loved living there and getting to learn and be a part of the culture, while being very busy in volunteer work. We made a lot of friends there that we will never forget.
This helps me to understand the frustrations that you might have in your fight to learn English.Me as a Teacher
I've always been a teacher, even when young.
It was when working in the IT department of a large international Pharmaceutical company, that I was asked to train other techs. Then I found my talent!
When I started making plans to live outside the US, I knew that it would be difficult to get a job living abroad. So I prepared myself by getting a 120 hour TEFL certification.
I recently completed my Bachelor's in Education, also receiving a minor in TESOL. (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.)My lessons & teaching style
My method is, I learn where your are on your learning adventure and where you need to go. Then I plan out the best path to get there.
Each class is an assessment. I am always listening for areas to improve your grammar, pronunciation and, how you can confidently present yourself when speaking English.
When you sign up for a trial lesson, I will prepare the 1st business class lesson for you. In the trial lesson, we will talk about your goals and then we will set a plan for how you will improve.
When you sign up for a package of classes with me I will send an assessment test to see where I can help you improve.
Then with your hard work, you will become the English speaker you want to be!My teaching material
