Hi! My name's Evelyn, I'm 25 years old. I'm Brazilian, born and raised in Rio de Janeiro. My hobbies include: watching TV shows (and anime), reading books (and manga), taking pictures, spending way too much time watching videos online, among a variety of things. I graduated Law School here in Brazil, but decided to pursue my passion teaching English, which I've been doing for the past 2 years now!
I've just finished a graduate course on English Language Teaching (currently waiting for my certificate to be ready).
After friends and students suggesting it to me, I decided to start teaching Portuguese to foreigners as well, so that others could fall in love with this beautiful language I'm proud to call my mother tongue. This new stage in my career has brought me a lot of growth as a professional and a person. It's thrilling to see my foreign students' progress! I came to italki seeking to expand and offer classes to as many people as possible.My lessons & teaching style
My approach is to make classes fun, relevant, and interesting. You can expect to practice authentic Portuguese by learning slang, idioms, popular expressions, memes, and much more! You will learn about Brazilian culture, traditions, and our entertainment industry.
All content will be personalized to suit your interests and communicative needs.
I don't believe tests are necessary, as they normally produce more stress than progress. Homework will be assigned on occasion.
We'll be watching Brazilian videos, listening to music, reading social media posts, and several other sources.
