Hello! I'm Şükran, and I specialize in teaching Turkish to both adults and children. Born and raised in Turkey, I'm a native Turkish speaker and also fluent in English with a B1 level in French.
My passion for teaching began in 4th grade. Following middle school, I attended the prestigious Anatolian Teacher Training High School, which has a long-standing tradition of nurturing future educators. I pursued my bachelor's degree in Foreign Language Education at Middle East Technical University (METU/ODTÜ) and later completed my master's in "Teaching Turkish to Foreigners" at Yıldız Technical University in İstanbul.Me as a Teacher
I am a fun and talkative teacher, but most importantly, I am a careful listener. I see mistakes as opportunities to learn new features of Turkish. My teaching approach is tailored to the needs, levels, and individual differences of my students. With experience in various language teaching methods, I believe we can easily find what works best for you.
You won't feel lost along the journey; I provide consistent feedback to ensure you always know your progress and next steps. Learning with me will be engaging, like a TV series, keeping you curious and motivated! As your language partner and teacher, I will focus on all four language skills (speaking, listening, reading, and writing) in our sessions. There are no shortcuts in language acquisition due to its complex nature, so the best results come when students engage with Turkish outside of class as well. Don't worry, I will guide you every step of the way, and you will have access to my unique collection of materials compiled over the years. At the end of each lesson, you'll receive a personalized Google Document with all the vocabulary and phrases we used during the session for easy revision. Learning Turkish with Şükran has been amazing, she’s a dedicated teacher who makes every lesson interesting and fun. In just a few months she helped me effectively prepare for the Tömer language proficiency exam and with her help I was able to pass level B2. I’ve learned a lot from her lessons, through exercises involving reading, speaking, listening, and writing. She is very professional and has consistently worked with me to reach my goals. Şükran is a wonderful warm-hearted person and a great motivating teacher who truly loves her job and cares for her student. We spent about two months together reading a novel in Turkish. Our lessons turned into a real book club.
I'm really happy that I met Şükran. Hope we will continue our journey soon!

Şükran is an excellent teacher. I just started learning Turkisha couple of weeks ago and I have already decided to work with her long-term. I am making great progress with every lesson.
