I always love lessons with shoya! He gives tips on how to sound natural and more importantly he’s super patient. I often forget words or spend a long time searching for words and shoya is always patient with me. I would highly recommend shoya to anyone and everyone looking to improve their Japanese!

I’ve had over 30 classes with Shoya and I genuinely look forward to each one. I like to book hour sessions because the time goes so fast!! Such a great teacher and all round good person! 10/10 recommend his classes if you’re looking to improve your Japanese! You won’t regret it! I certainly haven’t. いつも教えてくれてありがとうございます♪

今日の授業ありがとうございます。また日本語で色んな話題について喋ることができたのは良かった。「民主主義」や「独裁」や「砦」など珍しく使われるが大切な単語が習えたのは本当に良かった。次の授業は一緒にニュースを読むつもりということは楽しみだ！ I highly recommend taking lessons with Shoya. In my case I already can speak Japanese at intermediate level, so it's very important to me to finally break away from grammar guidebooks and Anki decks and start using natural Japanese. If this sounds like you, don't hesitate to take lessons with Shoya, he's very easy to talk to and always ready to rephrase anything you don't understand into simpler terms, or provide better ways of saying what you want to say. Along with teaching you new vocabulary that is actually used in real life Japanese. This is invaluable for becoming more confident about speaking Japanese.

It is always a great conversation with Shoya-san! Easy to understand and easy to talk to which makes it feel like I making a lot of progress! Would recommend to anyone at any level!
