Hi, I'm Ms. Cezayirli. I am a native Turkish speaker and a professional, certified Turkish teacher. I also have a unique international certificate for teaching Turkish to foreigners. I have completed my B.Sc. and M.Sc. education in Turkish Language and Literature and Modern Turkic Languages department at Hacettepe University, Ankara. I am still studying for my PhD in Turkish linguistics at the same university. My thesis is about the syntax-semantics interface of Turkish. I live in Ankara, the capital city of Türkiye. I have worked as a Turkish teacher in an American school (OASIS International School) for seven years. I am teaching Turkish to international students from around the world. Besides the language, I enjoy Turkish literature and culture, so I am a pretty enjoyable teacher. People comment that I teach Turkish systematically so they can learn such a complex language quickly. I mainly teach grammar-based official Turkish. I have also been an English-Turkish translator for 25 years, and I specifically make translations of psychology, Christian and Islamic theology. I am pretty competent in the terminologies of these fields besides linguistics, my primary field of study.My lessons & teaching style
I teach Turkish professionally, starting from the alphabet and phonetics. My teaching contains grammar, syntax, traditional and sociological details, and culture. I can teach Turkish in a wide range, from beginner-level daily Turkish to people aged 14 and older. I can also teach business Turkish in linguistics, psychology, and theology. If you already know some Turkish, I can offer you an advanced level of Turkish (advanced speaking and academic writing). If you aim to pass a Turkish language exam to get a chance to have an education in Turkey, I can offer a class specific to this exam.
